OUR STORY

Chuck’s Place Café first opened its doors in May of 2006, founded by Charlie and Gina Kauk. What began as a small hometown café featured a simple breakfast menu—just the basics, with no omelets or burritos at the time. Back then, prices were as humble as the café itself, with favorites like FOB at $2.35 and FOCB at $2.65.

For years, Chuck’s Place proudly served the community, becoming a familiar stop for locals and travelers alike. On November 1, 2020, the café closed its doors after Charlie became ill with COVID.

In 2021, the café found new life when Manuel and Linda Olivas, along with their daughter Tonia Lipe and grandchildren Haley Jaquez and Lynndon Lambright, took over ownership. After decades spent over-the-road trucking, Manuel (84) and Linda (74) were ready to slow down and invest their time where it mattered most—family.

Today, Chuck’s Place Café is proudly run by Tonia, Haley, and Lynndon, continuing the tradition of good food and a welcoming atmosphere.

Manuel later fought a courageous battle with cancer and passed away on November 7, 2024. His spirit, work ethic, and love for family remain at the heart of everything we do.

While we’ve added a few new favorites to the menu, we stay true to the roots that made Chuck’s Place special—a place where everyone feels at home.
